Rest in the Wilderness

In this week’s small group discussion, we reflect on the story of the golden calf and the Ten Commandments. Israel’s failure shows how fear can drive us to create substitutes for God’s presence through performance, control, anger, or shame. But the story does not end in rebellion. Through Moses’ advocacy, God moves toward his people in mercy, renews what was broken, and reveals his glory again. This discussion invites us to consider where fear has shaped our lives, how God’s relational nearness brings healing, and what it means to be restored by grace.
